Advocate to...

Construction/Safety:

  • Work with University administration to expedite construction of the Musical Department Amphitheater to create better facilities for majors in the arts.

  • Install reflectors on the crosswalk on the corner of University and Alafaya to improve student safety at a busy intersection.

  • Work with UCF Athletics to install cooling fans in Spectrum Stadium to enhance the fan experience during hot Fall games.

  • Work with UCF Police to add more blue lights around campus, in places such as parking garages and walking paths on campus, to allow students who primarily walk on campus to have better safety infrastructure when on campus.

  • Work with UCF Police to use metal detectors, and other safety protocols, at student entrance gates at Spectrum Stadium for football games to ensure the safety of all attendees.



 

  • Work with Student Union, breezeway, and Knights Plaza vendors to provide healthier food alternatives on-campus such as kosher, vegan, and vegetarian options.

  • Create small scale garden spaces sponsored by student organizations and on-campus restaurant vendors to grow healthy food alternatives that can be donated to Knights Pantry and on-campus vendors to ensure students have access to fresh produce.


  • Have arts students at UCF commissioned to paint a mural in the Student Union that embodies the spirit and diversity of UCF’s large student body in the heart of campus.

  • Work with UCF Student Conduct to create a first-time offender’s program for marijuana and alcohol use that centers more on education and less on punitive sanctions for first-time offenders.

  • Create a Pulse Remembrance Day as a University holiday to show unity, remembrance, and support for a community-wide tragedy.

  • Honor Holocaust Remembrance Day as a University holiday in support of the Jewish student population and the Holocaust’s great historical tragedies.

  • Advocate for a week-long celebration of black heritage to be observed by all UCF Faculty and Staff members to allow students to engage in a celebration of their cultural identity.

  • Increase availability of feminine hygiene products in bathrooms in the Student Union and around campus, and install baby changing tables for Student Union restrooms.

  • Organize a female student leadership conference that focuses on equity, engagement, and empowerment of female student leaders and allows them to share their experiences with one another to take back to their organizations.  

  • Create the SGA Division of Diversity and Inclusion to model the University’s continued commitment to equity and diversity at the student level.

  • Advocate that medical withdrawals be extended for maternity leave to promote equality of opportunity for pregnant students.

  • Work with the UCF Health Center to bring third-party organizations to campus for increased STD and STI testing in order to ensure the health of more students.

  • Work with the UCF Health Center to increase insurance options in the Health Center’s network so that students with many different insurance options have access to the services the Health Center offers at a lower cost.


 

  • Increase the number and awareness of the recycling bins and filtered water fountains around campus.

  • Work diligently with the Library Renovation Committee to improve study spaces in the library and implement better technology, desks, and outlets for student use.

  • Work with facilities and maintenance to make improvements to the Math Sciences Building (MSB) that include Smartboards, repainted walls, newer desks, and replaced ceiling tiles.

  • Work with UCF IT to improve the broadband for campus WiFi so that students do not struggle with internet connectivity during busy hours on campus.

  • Collaborate with UCF Athletics to add beer and alcohol sales at Spectrum Stadium during football season.

  • Advocate for an increase to the Student Legal Services budget to provide free tax services to students.

  • Cultivate opportunities for members of the Greek community and members of the larger student population to have conversations regarding student perception of Greek Life and to foster a better understanding of the roles each group plays on campus.

  • Work with UCF PD and Parking Services to stop the administration of parking tickets during finals week and after 7 P.M. on weekdays.

  • Rework deal with Lime company to bring motorized Lime Scooters to campus in addition to the Lime Bikes.

  • Work with Parking Services to provide free overnight parking options to students in on-campus parking garages.

  • Use the SGA platform to increase funding and marketing for on-campus mental health services such as CAPS.

  • Create a University-wide program to aid students in the transition to the new Downtown Campus starting in the Fall.

  • Collaborate with Rosen Life to host events and provide resources to increase the student involvement and experience on the Rosen campus.

  • Set up public forums with the Graduate Student Association (GSA) to ensure that graduate student needs are being heard, understood, and met appropriately so that graduate students feel adequately represented by their Student Government.
